2nd week in a row I’ve walked 8+ miles to get my comics. No real reason why. I could’ve taken a cab in Indy or the van at work. Just wanted to
Captain America- I don’t mind the story. I don’t like it, but sure, it’s a concept that you would have to revisit at some point. What I can’t stand is the art. Brubaker’s first run on Cap was a spy thriller. It was great. This is over cartoonish and lacks a lot of the magic of his first volume of it
X-Men- I feel like I’m one of the few people who has never really liked Jubilee. I am all about female characters in comics, but I just don’t like her. I’ve liked the vampire part with her even less. An entire issue about it? Blerg. Other people will like this, just not my thing
Huntress- Picking up steam, the artwork is still amazing, and I am enjoying it. I’m still not sure it’s anything great though. I’m going to reread the whole thing when issue 6 comes out, but I don’t think it is. It’s head and shoulders above most of the reboot stuff, but still
Deadpool- I can’t express how much better this series is with Barberi’s art. It does such an amazing job of pulling off both comical and gritty. I know that doesn’t make any sense, but it’s also true. I was very worried about this idea and at least for part 1 I’m really enjoying. I will take it all back if they kill him off though
Journey Into Mystery/Incredible Hulk/Wolverine and the X-Men- These are, along with Batman, the best comics being written right now. They’re funny, they do new things with established characters, they have great timing, dialogue is effective, artwork that suits the moods of the books. I just want to hug them. In fact I’m going to go do that
